Two things people should know and remember about SARS2 (Covid-19)
Note – SARS = Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome. Not “a cold you don’t need to worry about, it’s no big deal”
1. It’s airborne. If you walk through a poorly ventilated space, someone with the virus who was there 5 hours ago left enough virus behind to infect you 5 hours later.
2. How it differs from a cold or flu – a cold infects your respiratory tract (nose, sinuses, lungs). A flu infects deeper in the body, though not as well as Covid – Covid infects every organ in your body, including your brain. So when the sinus infection clears, and you start feeling better, it can still be active in organs with no pain (or other) receptors, with no symptoms until those organs are damaged to the point they malfunction.
I don’t know about you, but I don’t want to find out a few months later that I wasn’t okay because my heart stops, or I can’t think clearly, or my liver fails, or my kidneys stop working, or or or… so many OR’s there, since it infects everything and anything.
I haven’t gone in any shared public spaces without a mask in over 3 years – not because I’m paranoid, because I already have immune dysfunction, and making it worse could be a death sentence (it also attacks your immune system)
